Open Gardens in Histon and Impington started from an idea floated by Judy Wilson. Once a small committee had been formed, the idea became a reality. One year later in June 2007 sixteen gardens in Histon and Impington opened to the community. The sun shone all day and everyone has a glorious time in what was an otherwise damp summer.
Not only was the day a huge success amongst the local community and those from outside who came to visit but it also raised an incredible £5250 for three charities.
The next Open Gardens day is planned for 2009 but before that there will be a chance at the Feast Market 2008 to find out more and see some photos from the 2007 Open Gardens day.
